"Traveling from Reno Nevada is not easy, but the care I receive is well worth the effort... Before going to Dr. Slone, I was in continuous discomfort and experiencing difficulty walking and sitting. On my first visit, I experienced immediate relief and the improvement continues with each visit. Thanks
Dr. Slone!"

Infant/Toddler Program

This program is designed for Infant’s and Toddler’s, however all patients may benefit from this program depending on their condition. In this program, the patient is initially assessed to determine if they have reached their neurodevelopmental milestones or not. Following the evaluation, the parents are provided specific exercises to be performed while at their home. After a period of time, the infant/toddler will be re-evaluated to determine how far the patient has progressed. When appropriate, additional exercises will be provided to the parents as the infant/toddler develops.

When an infant is born, they have reflexes which help with survival. As the infant matures and develops, these reflexes should be inhibited and no longer present. If one or more reflexes remain present when they should not be, it is an early indication that the infant may not be maturing as s/he should. Slone Chiropractic will identify this lack of maturation during the frequent evaluations and provide proper therapy to help the infant develop.

This program not only assists with the development of the infant/toddler, but in so doing, will help in the preparation of the toddler to be ready for school. Often times, if the child has not properly developed, their nervous system “foundation” is poor, making any future neurologic development “incomplete.” With a poor foundation, the infant/toddler may have difficulty with learning, behavior or athletics in the future.

For young children, the information obtained from this program may help explain certain behavior. For instance, a child who has been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD may have a retained Moro Reflex, which is the startle reflex. When this startle reflex is not inhibited, the child may remain on “alert,” making it almost impossible to inhibit any insignificant stimulus. By inhibiting the Moro Reflex, your child’s attention may improve.

The evaluations that are used in this program may also be used in the other programs, depending on the symptomatology that the patient presents with. Often times, if a patient is experiencing symptomatology, the root of the patients condition is related to these findings. Dr. Slone will then treat these conditions, which will then allow the future treatment to provide the best results possible.
